Theo thông cáo công bố ngày 2/9 của ban tổ chức cuộc thi, tổng cộng có 180 huy chương được trao cho 16 nước tham dự. Trong đó, Brazil là quốc gia dẫn đầu với 67 huy chương, với 17 huy chương vàng. Trong khi đó, Argentina xếp vị trí thứ hai với 41 huy chương (15 huy chương vàng) và Mỹ đứng vị trí thứ ba với 27 huy chương (11 huy chương vàng).
“Nhà máy bia châu Mỹ tốt nhất” – danh hiệu quan trọng thứ hai của cuộc thi, đã được trao cho nhà máy Backer de Belo Horizonte của Brazil.
Trong khi đó, nhà máy bia Dama Bier được vinh danh với giải thưởng “Loại bia ngon nhất” với sản phẩm bia mang nhãn hiệu “Reserva 8.”
Trong suốt một tuần diễn ra lễ hội, hơn 70 giám khảo người Chile cũng như nước ngoài là các nhà thẩm định đã “chấm điểm” các loại bia bằng hình thức “khảo sát mù” (bịt mắt và nếm vị của các loại đồ uống) nhằm chọn ra loại bia có vị ngon nhất.
Bên cạnh đó, lễ hội bia cũng tổ chức một loạt các hoạt động nhằm mục đích truyền tải những đặc trưng của một nền văn hóa bia thực sự, đặc biệt là những loại bia thủ công.
Đây là lần thứ hai, lễ hội độc đáo này được tổ chức tại Valparaiso. Theo trưởng ban tổ chức cuộc thi Daniel Trivelli, mùa giải tiếp theo của lễ hội bia châu Mỹ sẽ được tại thành phố Mar de Plata của Argentina.
