Để ngăn chặn nạn mất cốc, một chủ quán bar ở Bỉ đã yêu cầu khách đến uống bia phải đặt 1 chiếc giày làm tài sản thế chấp.

Bia Bỉ nổi tiếng khắp thế giới, vì vậy không có gì ngạc nhiên khi khách du lịch đổ xô đến các quán bia để thưởng thức khi đến thăm đất nước này. Tuy nhiên, gần đây, nhiều người trong số họ đã có thói quen rời quán với chiếc ly để làm quà kỉ niệm.

Ông Philip Maes, chủ sở hữu của quán bar The Wall Wall ở Bruges, cho biết ông đã bị mất hơn 4.000 ly bia mỗi năm. Đây quả không phải là một số tiền nhỏ vì hầu hết những chiếc ly đó là những tác phẩm nghệ thuật thực sự, được thiết kế riêng cho quán của ông. Một ly bia của ông có thể có giá lên tới 50 Euro (55 USD) và việc mất hàng ngàn chiếc đã làm tổn thất tài chính đáng kể cho quán. Để đối phó tình trạng này, Maes và các chủ quán bar khác đã thực hiện các biện pháp an ninh để ngăn chặn các vụ trộm ly bia.

Năm ngoái, Philip Maes đã đầu tư khoảng 5.000 USD để lắp đặt hệ thống báo động cho từng ly bia một. Bằng cạc này, ông hy vọng sẽ ngăn cản được khách hàng đánh cắp ly bia của mình. Theo ông, ít nhất là 80% “kẻ trộm” sẽ cảm thấy xấu hổ khi chuông báo động reo lên, lúc họ tìm cách “nẫng” cái ly và rời đi.

Những chủ quán khác đã chọn một biện pháp an toàn và ít tốn kém hơn. Ông Dulle Griet, một chủ quán bia thủ công ở Ghent, đã yêu cầu những khách hàng muốn tới uống bia ở quán để lại 1 chiếc giày của họ làm tài sản thế chấp. Chiếc giày này sẽ cho vào 1 chiếc giỏ treo tít trên trần nhà. Khi khách rời quán, người ta sẽ trả lại nó cho họ.

Tuy vậy, ông Alex De Vriendt cũng phải thừa nhận rằng một số khách hàng sẵn sàng đi chân trần để có một chiếc ly bia làm kỷ niệm.Từ lúc quán có quy định này, họ đã từ chối những người đi chân đất đến uống bia.

“Chúng tôi chấp nhận tất cả các loại giày dép mặc dù thú thực là một chiếc dép xỏ ngón còn lâu mới có giá trị bằng một ly bia”, ông De Vriendt nói.

Công bằng mà nói, ly đựng bia Bỉ thực sự rất đẹp, đặc biệt chúng thường đi kèm với một giá đỡ bằng gỗ được làm thủ công để giữ cho ly bia đứng thẳng. Tuy nhiên đó không phải là lí do để người ta vô tư ăn cắp chúng. Nếu thích, khách du lịch hoàn toàn có thể mua chúng từ những cửa hàng lưu niệm.

Nhiều người lại thắc mắc, làm thế nào mà người ta có thể ăn cắp cái ly bia khổng lồ dễ dàng đến thế? Bởi vào mùa hè, sẽ rất khó để giấu chúng trong người mà không khiến nhân viên của quán phát hiện.
