Đất nước có lễ hội bia kéo dài nửa tháng, thường uống bia ướp lạnh để giữ nguyên vị, không thách thức nhau trên bàn tiệc.

Đức là cái nôi của những loại bia ngon trên thế giới khi bắt đầu sản xuất đồ uống này từ thế kỷ XII. Sản xuất bia là ngành công nghiệp được chú trọng, nhiều du khách cũng đưa sản phẩm vào danh sách “nhất định phải thử” khi đặt chân đến.

Hiện, Đức có hơn 5.000 nhãn hiệu bia. Chính quyền nước này đưa ra quy định không cho các chất vào bia dưới mọi hình thức, chỉ được phép dùng hoa bia, đại mạch, bột lên men, nước để sản xuất. Trong đó, hoa bia cất lên tạo ra thức uống có vị mát, hơi đắng, mùi thơm, tạo nên vị bia đặc trưng khó quên.

Người Đức bắt đầu sản xuất bia từ thế kỷ XII.

Bên cạnh việc làm ra những sản phẩm tinh túy, văn hóa thưởng thức của người dân nước này cũng có nhiều điều thú vị. Thông thường, họ không cho đá vào ly của mình, thay vào đó là uống bia ướp lạnh để giữ nguyên độ tinh khiết.

Người Đức uống bia vào bất cứ thời gian nào trong ngày, những bữa tiệc, buổi gặp mặt bạn bè, sau giờ làm việc… Tuy nhiên, thường không có chuyện o ép hay thách thức nhau trên bàn tiệc, khi đã say họ sẽ đi taxi về nhà.

Với họ, bia không chỉ là thức uống giải khát thông thường mà còn là nét đẹp văn hóa của đất nước. Vì vậy, không khó hiểu khi họ có lễ hội bia truyền thống Oktoberfest.

Lễ hội lần đầu tiên được tổ chức vào ngày 12/10/1810 nhân dịp lễ cưới của Hoàng thái tử Ludwig (sau là vua Ludwig) và công chúa Theresa. Trong hơn 200 năm lịch sử, lễ hội chỉ bị hủy bỏ 24 lần, chủ yếu vì lý do dịch bệnh, chiến tranh.

Sự kiện bia được tổ chức tháng 9 hàng năm tại thành phố Munich, kéo dài 16 ngày, kết thúc vào chủ nhật đầu tiên của tháng 10. Lễ hội quy tụ nhiều lều bia cùng hàng trăng ki-ốt, khu vui chơi giải trí, quầy bán đồ ăn.

Tại lễ hội, người Đức sẽ mặc trang phục truyền thống của xứ Bavaria. Họ cùng du khách hưởng thức những loại bia thủ công có hương vị đặc sắc hơn, chứa ít CO2 hơn bình thường, cùng nâng ly, hô hào những lời chúc tốt đẹp.

Không chỉ người Đức, dân Việt cũng yêu thích bia. Nhạc sĩ Trần Tiến trong bài Ngẫu hứng phố đã viết: “Hà Nội cái gì cũng vui, rủ nhau ra phố bia hơi vỉa hè”. Bia hơi Hà Nội không chỉ là thức uống giải khát nữa, có thể xem như một nét đặc trưng của thành phố nghìn năm văn hiến.

Bia hơi hiện đại được đựng trong cốc thuỷ tinh trong an toàn hơn.

Người dân Hà thành đến phố bia để hàn huyên, vui vẻ hay đắm mình vào những suy nghĩ về cuộc sống. Vài năm gần đây, những nét đẹp trong văn hoá bia Đức được thổi hồn, len lỏi dần trong các quán nhậu. Tuy nhiên, bên cạnh việc du nhập nét đẹp của phương Tây thì một số thương hiệu bia vẫn cố gắng lưu giữ hương vị bia Việt để tạo ra một sự giao thoa độc đáo mang lại bản sắc văn hoá bia hơi mới mẻ, hiện đại.

Nhiều sản phẩm bia hơi được cải tiến bởi người Việt bằng cách nấu trên dây chuyền, nguyên liệu nhập khẩu, công nghệ tiêu chuẩn Đức khác hẳn với cách nấu bia hơi kiểu cũ. Quá trình chiết rót, bảo quản vận chuyển bia cũng khép kín, kiểm soát từ nhà máy đến tận bàn ăn. Theo đó, chất lượng sản phẩm cũng được chú trọng nhiều hơn để đảm bảo độ an toàn, lưu trữ hương vị nguyên bản của bia.

Cuộc sống hiện đại kèm theo những thay đổi khác trong văn hóa bia của người Việt, từ phong cách thưởng thức đến món nhắm đi kèm. Mồi nhắm không dừng lại ở đĩa lạc rang, nem, khô mực hay bánh đa mà còn kết hợp với nhiều món ngon hơn, hiện đại hơn như đồ Tây hay món ăn đặc sản vùng miền…
