Trong các lễ hội dân gian truyền thống trên toàn thế giới, lễ hội bia Đức Oktoberfest có lẽ là lễ hội cổ xưa nhất không những còn gìn giữ được, thậm chí đã phát triển thành lễ hội bia lớn nhất thế giới và được tổ chức vào đầu tháng 10 hàng năm.

Lịch sử lễ hội bia Đức

Oktoberfest, hay còn được biết đến dưới tên gọi “lễ hội tháng Mười”, được tổ chức lần đầu tiên vào năm 1810 tại Munich, xứ Bavaria nhằm ăn mừng lễ cưới của hoàng thái tử Ludwig (sau này là vua Ludwig I) và công chúa Therese của Saxe-Hildburghausen. Tất cả người dân ở đây đều được mời đến cánh đồng trước cổng thành phố chung vui cùng đám cưới hoàng gia. Sau này cánh đồng được đặt tên là Theresienwiese (hay Wies’n) để thể hiện lòng tôn kính đến hoàng hậu.

Có lẽ Munich xứ Bavaria sẽ chẳng được biết nhiều đến thế nếu lễ hội này không được phát triển và kéo dài tới nay, cũng là năm thứ 205 kể từ khi bắt đầu. Lễ hội được tổ chức trong thời gian 16-18 ngày, từ giữa tháng 9 đến ngày Chủ Nhật đầu tiên của tháng 10. Đã có khoảng 3000 lễ hội khác làm “nhái” theo Oktoberfest nhưng không có lễ hội nào thành công được như phiên bản gốc. Mỗi năm, Oktoberfest đón nhận khoảng 6 triệu lượt du khách đến khám phá và thưởng những vại bia khổng lồ cùng các hoạt động vui chơi giải trí bên cạnh đó.

Đầu tiên bạn phải hiểu rằng không có thứ gì khác nổi bật hơn thứ “chất lỏng óng ánh” có mặt ở khắp nơi, vào bất kể thời điểm nào ở tại lễ hội này. Thống kê cho thấy số lượng bia tiêu thụ mỗi mùa Oktoberfest có thể đổ đầy 3 bể bơi Olympic. Cũng chính vì số lượng fan không nhỏ của nó mà họ đã tạo ra hẳn những chiếc lều khổng lồ để các vị khách có thể vừa uống bia và tán gẫu với nhau. Vại bia có kích cỡ lớn nhất ở đây thường được gọi là “Mass” với dung tích lên đến 1 lít mỗi vại có thể đánh gục bất kỳ ai mới chỉ quen với việc uống bia bằng cốc.

Ngoài đồ uống chính thức ở đây thì các món như xúc xích và gà nướng cũng rất được ưa chuộng bởi lẽ: uống nhiều kiểu gì cũng đói! Và thống kê cho biết mỗi năm đã có hàng tấn thịt được tiêu thụ riêng trong 2 tuần diễn ra lễ hội này.

Trang phục truyền thống dirndls và lederhosen của những người phục vụ cũng là điểm nhấn tạo ra một không khí đặc trưng đúng với chất dân gian “ngày xửa ngày xưa” của Đức và ngày Chủ nhật đầu tiên của lễ hội sẽ có một đoàn diễu hành mặc những bộ trang phục truyền thống đầy màu sắc này đi xuyên qua các con phố dài khoảng 7km từ Munich đến Theresienwiese.

Nói đến lễ hội thì chả thể thiếu được các trò chơi. Và điểm nhấn của Lễ hội mùa thu chính là tàu lượn siêu tốc Sky Drive và đu quay khổng lồ cao 50m lớn nhất và cũng là nhanh nhất châu Âu giúp bạn chiêm ngưỡng toàn bộ quang cảnh lễ hội từ trên cao. Ngoài ra, lễ hội năm nay còn có thêm các pha biểu diễn mô tô mạo hiểm, một chuyến tàu ma đảm bảo khiến bạn thót tim, kem và các gian đồ ngọt sẽ được tìm thấy tại “Mandelturm” và “Schokoladenfabrik”.

6.5 triệu lít bia đã được tiêu thụ tại Lễ hội mùa thu. Tuy nhiên đây mới chỉ là con số “khiêm tốn” so với 7.9 triệu lít bia trong năm 2011. Mặc dù vậy đây cũng chỉ là con số tương đối bởi mỗi một “Mass” thường không được đổ đầy theo đúng tiêu chuẩn 1 lít.

Năm 1989 có lẽ là năm mọi người… đói nhất khi tiêu thụ tới 775.674 con gà nướng và 360.734 chiếc xúc xích.

6 triệu là số lượng khách tham dự trung bình hàng năm nhưng con số lớn nhất phải kể đến 7.1 triệu người đã đến chung vui tại lễ hội vào năm 1985

Oktoberfest đã phải hoãn 9 năm trong Chiến tranh Thế giới thứ II từ 1939 đến 1948. Một phiên bản nhỏ hơn đã được tổ chức sau khi kết thúc chiến tranh với tên gọi “Herbfest” (Lễ hội mùa thu).

Giá cả tăng mỗi năm không thể là điều tránh khỏi

Trung bình bạn sẽ phải trả 10 euro cho 1 Mass, giá tiền sẽ dao động theo chiều hướng tăng hàng năm.

Lều bia lớn nhất thuộc về nhà Pschorr-Bräu-Rosl với sức chưa 12.000 người được dựng năm 1913. Năm 2017 lều bia lớn nhất là của nhà Hofbräuhaus với sức chứa 10.000 người. Tổng cộng các lều bia sẽ đón nhận 119.000 lượt khách trong năm nay.

Số nhân viên phục vụ cho lễ hội đủ để làm thành một ngôi làng nhỏ với 13.000 người bao gồm 8.000 nhân viên chính thức và 5.000 nhân viên làm theo vụ.

Cuối cùng nhưng không kém phần quan trọng, 1.500 toilet miễn phí đã được đặt sẵn tại Wiesn để phục vụ. Tuy nhiên lý do để dùng chúng thì không hề miễn phí chút nào.
